Zone Diet
Recipe : Hot Cakes
Ingredient for
Hot Cakes
3 eggs [3P]
3/4 cup cottage cheese [3P]
1/4 cup flour [2C]
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
Preparation
Method for Hot Cakes
1 egg per person.
Do not prepare batter ahead.
Beat egg yolks
till thick. Add cottage cheese and beat well. Stir in flour and
salt. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook on 380 degree hot
griddle. Make each hotcake about 3 inches in diameter. Serve
immediately.
This recipe makes
a total of 6 blocks of protein, and 2 blocks of carbohydrates.
It can be divided between two or three people depending on what
else is being served. Be sure to balance out the protein blocks
with fresh fruit on top of the pancakes. If you use low fat
cottage cheese also add some nuts for fat.
